The Baltic country Latvia has a very keen interest in the Nuclear Plant based in Visaginas Lithuania, Latvia would like up to one fifth which is not a huge request. The project is to be complete by the year 2020, that also would have the involvement of Hitachi Ltd a known strategic investor. The total parties expected to be involved is Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Japan’s 2nd largest builder of nuclear plants Hitachi Ltd.
The Prime Minister of Lithuania Valdis Dombrovskis said, “Our intention is to be a part of this project, and right now we are discussing on a technical level on what share exactly in the project we will take”. Once again the Baltic Region steps forward with development.
