Latvian airline airBaltic has launched its summer flights from Riga to Varna, Bulgaria in cooperation with the international tour operator Tez Tour. The new route offers convenient connections between the two cities and beyond to destinations in the Baltic region, Scandinavia, Russia and the CIS countries.

As part of restructuring initiatives, airBaltic has discontinued a number of routes recording somewhat weaker demand in the summer season; this move makes aircraft capacity available for the Riga – Varna service for airBaltic customers travelling between the two cities and onwards to destinations such as Copenhagen, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo, Vilnius, Tallinn. airBaltic operates flights from Riga to Varna two times a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Passengers board a Boeing 737-300 aircraft for a flight that lasts for 2 hours 40 minutes. Return ticket price starts at EUR 199, including airport fees and transaction costs.

airBaltic serves over 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia. From every one of these locations, airBaltic offers convenient connections via North Hub Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.

Tez Tour offers charter flight to travellers all year round. Tez Tour customers are welcome to visit Turkey, Greece, Spain, Egypt, UAE, Thailand, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Maldives, as well as skiing resorts in Austria, Italy and Andorra.

Latvian Cosmetic Company Dzintars to Open Worldwide http://www.balticnews.co.uk/latvian-cosmetic-company-dzintars-to-open-worldwide/11770 http://www.balticnews.co.uk/latvian-cosmetic-company-dzintars-to-open-worldwide/11770#comments Fri, 01 Apr 2011 11:58:47 +0000 Joanna - Baltic NEWS in UK http://www.balticnews.co.uk/?p=770 Latvian cosmetic company, Dzintars, plans to open more shops abroad via the franchise system. Recently Dzintars 13th franchise shop in Russia was opened in Izhevsk. There are 49 Dzintars shops in Latvia, 13 in Russia, 2 in Estonia, 1 in Georgia and 1 in Ukraine. The company is reported to have turned over LVL 5.3 million in 2010 which was 19.1% more than the previous year, and for 2011 currently the turnover has increased by 14% compared to 2010.

Last year Dzintars were reported to be in discussions with a US retail chain who were interested in the company’s eco-cosmetic products. They presently produce more than 750 different perfumes, cosmetics, skin, hair and facial care products and other bio-cosmetic products. Dzintars products are exported to 21 countries, mostly in the Baltics, but also the Commonwealth of Independent States, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Austria, Bulgaria and Israel. As internationally customers are already familiar with their products and their turnover moves from strength to strength, now would be a favourable moment for Dzintars shops to go global.
