A recent study by the Estonian Information and Telecommunication Association (ITL) demonstrates that Estonia is suffering from a lack of IT specialists. ITL estimated that some 6,500 more IT graduates will be required over the next three years.
Last week on 16th May 2011 Estonian company, Webmedia Group acquired Finnish company, CCC Corporation Oy for an undisclosed sum. The move will increase Webmaster’s annual turnover to around 40 million Euros with a view to doubling that figure over the next three years.
As such, Webmedia need 50 new employees immediately and another 100 by the end of 2011. Skype and Playtech are also advertising for IT staff. Foreign investment could be discouraged by the current lack of available IT staffing resources, but Estonian IT contracting still represents high value for money compared to more expensive rates in Finland and Sweden.
