The 3rd part of 2011 was a success for Estonia’s growth in the Economy. This is outstanding news for the country and the Baltic Region as it can only help the other 2 Latvia and Estonia. The construction industry (e.g Merko Ehitus AS) played a key role in this rise of 8.5 percent in GDP (Gross Domestic Product) from 2010 and also its step in adopting the Euro at the start of the year.
The statistics office said, “In conjunction with the decrease in the contribution of manufacturing, the GDP growth has become more broad-based due to the increase in the contribution of several other economic activities,” and continued with, “Construction, information and communication made a considerable contribution to the GDP growth, as well.”
